Past Dinners:

     01/07/2009 - Freebird's World Burrito

We had a good turnout this time around, 14 people showed up, which I think is our biggest ever.  We discussed DDD for a brief period, talking about the best resources to learning it.  I think that would be a good topic for more depth, however we'd need to get more people to read the book.  Perhaps a DDD book club?  We talked about Oxite, the good & bad, and also discussed the concept of mentors, and how to approach getting one-on-one advice from someone you respect.  I suggested contributing to open source as a way to get access to many smart developers.  There were many other topics, which I felt was a bit detrimental to the meeting.  Rather than bulldoze through a big topic list I think it would be better to dive in deeper on 2 or 3.  Lastly we talked about a small open spaces gathering, which you can see more info on here.

The feedback I've received so far is Freebird's was a bit too loud for our discussions.  It was tough to hear what was being said at the other end of the table.
